The Positive and Negative Impacts of Climate Change Strike
What is the positive impact of climate change strike and what is the negative impact of climate change strike?
Climate change is becoming a huge problem. Greta Thunberg is leading teenagers all around the world and they are skipping the school every Friday to strike and aware about climate change. You might have seen the climate change strike or you might have heard about the climate change strike on the news. If you know about the climate change strike, what are you thinking about it? Do you think there are impacts on the world? Let’s think about positive impacts and negative impacts together!
What is climate change?
Before getting into the details of the climate change strike, do you know what is climate change?
Climate change is one of the huge problem in the world that is affecting many people. We generate greenhouse gases everyday. We use air conditioner, we use microwave, we take public transport, we use car… Most of the activities we are doing generate greenhouse gases.
Greenhouse gases are harmful to our life in the future because greenhouse gases keep heat. Greenhouse gases are surrounding near Earth and greenhouse gases keep heat inside of Earth. That means the heat from the sun goes inside of greenhouse gases and warm Earth and then the heat will never come out of Earth. The heat from the sun will keep coming inside of Earth so in the future, the Earth will become too hot.
Do you want to live in the hot world? Of course not! Our children, grandchildren and future generation are going to live in the hot world that we don’t want to live because we don’t have solution to the climate change problem yet!!!
Greta Thunberg thought about this problem and she thought that we need to raise awareness and find a solution for climate change problem. So she started the climate change strike and skipped school. First, she was alone, she was the only one who was doing the climate change strike. After a while, many tv channels and newspaper companies came to her and interviewed her about the climate change problem and they reported about Greta Thunberg in the tv and newspaper. Many teenagers saw the news and many teenagers skipped school and joined the climate change strike as Greta Thunberg. Now, many teenagers lead by Greta Thunberg around the globe is skipping the school every Friday and going to the climate change strike.
Impacts of the strike
Now, think about the climate change strike. Many teenagers are skipping the school and going to the climate change strike to raise awareness and many teenagers are thinking about the solution. There are positive impacts and negative impacts. From teenager’s perspective, there might be no negative impact and there might be many positive impacts. From parent’s perspective, there are positive impacts but there are several negative impacts. From workers, who passed by the climate change strike’s perspective, there are positive and negative impacts both.
Depends on the perspective, we can say that the climate change has positive impacts or we can say that the climate change has negative impacts.
Teenager’s perspective
Let’s look at teenager’s perspective. Teenagers are going to the climate change strike every Friday but they are skipping the school.
Let’s think about positive impacts first. Teenagers are going to the climate change strike every Friday. Teenagers are having a good experience. Teenagers can learn how to strike, how to raise awareness and how to spread the word. Also, teenagers are raising awareness so more people will know about climate change and teenagers want everybody to know about the climate change problem so teenagers can achieve their wish. Maybe some of the teenagers hate school. Maybe teenagers don’t want to go to the school. Teenagers are skipping the school to go to the climate change strike so teenagers don’t need to go to the school.
We thought about positive impacts from teenager’s perspective. Now, let’s think about negative impact from teenager’s perspective. Teenagers are skipping the school so teenagers can’t learn. Teenagers can’t learn every Friday and if teenagers don’t learn, teenagers will have issues in the future. Maybe they can’t open carrier. Maybe they can’t make money. Maybe they can’t use their knowledge in the future. This is the negative impact from teenager’s perspective.
Parent’s perspective
Of course teenagers have parents. So let’s think about parent’s perspective.
First, positive impacts. Parents want their child(teenager) to learn and have some great experiences. Parent’s child is going to the climate change strike and their child is learning how to raise awareness, how to spread the words and how to present child’s idea. This is a great experience for their child. Their child also interacts with other people and they might become a good friend. Their child can learn how to make a new friend and how to talk with people.
Then let’s think about negative impacts from parent’s perspective. Parents are paying money to school to let their child learn at a great environment but their child are not going to the school every Friday. Parents worked very hard to pay their child’s education and their child is not learning in the school every Friday.
Workers who passed by the climate change strike’s perspective
Let’s see workers who passed by the climate change strike’s perspective. When I say workers, who passed by the climate change strike, it means workers who was going to their office and saw the climate change strike.
Let’s start with positive impact. If the workers didn’t know climate change problem, they will now know what is climate change and maybe they can do some actions about the climate change problem and they can raise awareness. This has positive impact to the workers and the teenagers both.
So let’s think about negative impacts next. Workers are going to their office so they are probably using public transportation. Workers have to walk to the station but many people are in the street so it is hard to walk in the street. That means workers would be late for their work.
Conclusion
We looked at the positive impacts and negative impacts from many people’s perspectives. From teenager’s perspective, there are a lot of positive impacts and there are less negative impacts. From parent’s perspective, there are positive impacts but there are negative impacts. From workers who passed by the climate change strike’s perspective, there are positive impact but there are negative impact too.
